I see an old general store that people could go to. The physical setting is a town in Alabama and it looks like an abandoned area. It may look like an abandoned area but there are people around the store. I think this image was made to show how little the people had and how far they would have to go to get something that they could barely afford. In this picture you see some people going in and out of the store. The surroundings are missing from the picture. By just have the general store doesn't give us the chance to see the surrounding area. I wonder how much each thing was in the store. I wonder if poor people couldn't afford it. I wonder where it was located.

I see the field where the slaves would work. I first noticed the all the dead crops. The setting i would say is a field where the slaves would work in Alabama. I think this image was made to show us where the slaves would work to earn very little money. I learn that a lot of people did not have it easy back then and that they had to work really hard to earn such a small amount of money. The workers are missing from this image. I wonder where else they worked. I wonder who worked. I wonder how long they worked for.

I see some of the town. First I noticed the buildings. I would say the building in the picture shown is City Hall. The image was made to show us the town. The people who live there are missing from the picture. I learned that they didn't have a big town. I wonder who lives there. What living there is like and what struggles people have to deal with.I wonder how the people made a living with such little money.

Part 2B
People waiting for a bus at the Greyhound bus terminal.
People waiting for a bus at the Greyhound bus terminal.

I see the people waiting for the bus. I first notice the crowd of people all waiting for the bus. I see the bus and the bus stop and how crowded the bus must of been. The image was made to show us how crowded the bus was because it was a big part of transportation. The people are waiting for the bus. The the bus was a big part of transportation. I wonder who waited for the bus. How long the wait was. How much it costs.

I see a strip of store and a hotel. I first noticed the hotel sign. I see the people walking along the strip of stores. To show that they had stores. People are shopping. The people could afford nice things. How much everything costs. Who shopped, rich or poor. When they shopped.

I see the drinking fountain. I first notice it says water. It says soup also. It was made to show us people drank from the same fountain. People are missing. The people shared the drinking fountain. I wonder how many people drank from the fountain. Who drank from it. When they drank from it.

Part 3A
All the interviews I read about really said a lot about the people's lives and what they were like. They really had nothing and had to work very hard for such little money that wouldn't get them very far. They could barely support their families and struggled to support themselves. They couldn't buy the things that they needed the most because it was probably too expensive and they couldn't afford it. They had to make a living off of the things that they already had and the things that they could afford. Their lives were really hard back then and I couldn't imagine living like that. I feel bad that they had to work so hard for such little money and that they could barely make a living.
